Tap Your Worries Away with EFT

Emotional freedom techniques (EFT) is a meridian-based energy therapy developed by Gary Craig. The theory behind EFT is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body's energy system have profound effects on one's personal psychology and by tapping on certain body locations these imbalances can be corrected. EFT has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues.
In the early 1980’s, Dr. Callahan studied the meridian system of acupuncture in an effort to find better answers to some of the problems his patients faced, particularly those with anxiety and phobias. He combined the use of “tapping” on acupuncture meridians and focusing on the problem at hand. Callahan discovered that if a person was focusing on a specific fear of their own at the time they tapped; this fear could be removed, and often times permanently. Callahan had been working for over two years with “Mary”, a patient of his who had an overwhelming fear of water. One day while they were working on this fear in his office, Mary told him for the first time that her fearful feeling was located in her stomach. Dr. Callahan was aware of the acupuncture point located directly beneath the eye which, according to traditional acupuncture, is linked to the stomach meridian. Accordingly, Dr. Callahan asked her to tap on that point thinking that it might balance a possible disturbance in her meridian energy system. Mary agreed to tap under her eyes and when she did she called out that her fear of water was suddenly gone, and then she got up and ran toward the swimming pool. When she reached it, she began splashing water on her face. Before this event she had not been able to go near the pool. Through this discovery Gary Craig developed Callahan’s tapping method into what is now known as EFT. Craig developed a system of tapping that could bring about beneficial changes in a person’s emotional state, and it could therefore be used to treat a number of psychological problems.
The basic recipe for EFT includes several steps or phases. To begin you repeat the affirmation, “Even though I have this (state your issue), I deeply and completely accept myself” 3 times, while tapping a meridian point on the hand or upper chest. The next step involves tapping approximately seven times on a series of points on the major energy meridians in the body. This is done to help balance energy in the body. During this phase a word or short phrase that describes the problem is repeated out loud each time you tap one of the points. This way you continually "remind" your system about the problem you are working on. Then repeat the sequence of tapping on the major energy meridians a second time.
EFT is easy to learn and is now a very influential and widely known energy psychology. It has taken 50 years to fully develop into a meridian-based approach which is now being taught around the world. At present, EFT plays a leading role in revolutionary psychology.

To Buy or Not to Buy Organic: What You Need to Know to Choose the Healthiest, Safest, Most Earth-Friendly Food
By Cindy Burke
Similar to many books on the topic of organic products, Cindy Burke begins the book by discussing why one should choose organic products over nonorganic ones. She does into further detail about the importance of organic products by informing the reader how pesticides impact human health. She also explains what the USDA organic label truly means.
The part of the book I found to be most helpful was Burke’s list of twelve foods to only eat organic. She also divided many different foods into categories, such as fruits, seafood, snacks and processed foods, etc. Understanding that purchasing 100% organic can be expensive, Burke gives helpful tips on purchasing nonorganic products or partially organic products if safe. For example, she informs the reader that asparagus does not attract many insects and that nonorganic asparagus seldom contains pesticide residue. The shopping guide at the end of the book summaries a multitude of products and gives the reader sufficient information on whether to buy organic, not organic or local.

Learn How To Make Your Attitude Your Ally
By Dechen Lau
In order to get the influence of a positive attitude you have to first learn how to make your attitude your ally. How do you make your attitude your ally? It is all about believing in the idea that your attitude affects your life and what happens to you. If you struggle with believing that if you think positive that positive things will happen, then the first step in making your attitude your ally is to change your way of thinking. You have to believe in the idea that positive attitude equals positive results. You have to start looking for proof. It should not be hard to find, since positive influence is all around. Try it out for yourself. There is no better proof than seeing it firsthand. Take one day and commit to having a positive attitude all day. Take notice of how others react to you.Are they friendlier? Do people seem to help you out more than usual? What other things happen during the day? Can you see the positive attitude influencing other things in your life during the day?
Once you have convinced yourself that your positive attitude really does influence your life, then you can begin to put the idea of making your attitude your ally into play.Keep up the positive attitude. Let it influence your life and let it lead you to good things. Eventually it will. You will start to see how it is bringing good things to you. Making your attitude your ally should incorporate your ideas, the way you think, your actions and body language and even your goals. You have to make an effort to start turning all your thoughts and ideas into positive thoughts and ideas. You have to start pushing the negativity out of your head and let positive thoughts guide you. Every time you start to find your thoughts drifting to the negative, you have to make a conscious effort to make them positive instead. It helps to train yourself to always find the positive in anything. If you train your thoughts to go to the positive it will go a long way towards changing your attitude. Your body language says a lot about you. Body language can tell others all about your attitude and personality. That is why it is incredibly important to make sure your body language is positive. Body language is the movements of your body, the way you hold your body, and facial expressions, including eye movement. It often corresponds with our attitudes and sometimes contradicts what our words are saying. When our body language and our words do not match, people are likely to believe the body language as it is often an unconscious thing that gives away the truth.
Positive body language is when your body is open. You do not want to do things that close your body off, like crossing your arms. You want to make eye contact and face people when talking to them. A smile is the best body language you can display to others. Keeping a smile on your face will also benefit your attitude. Smiles have a way of making you feel good, so always be sure to have a smile on your face. Goals are important in any aspect of your life. Goals can help you make things happen. Setting positive goals and sticking to them will help you maintain your positive attitude. By maintaining your positive attitude and letting it lead you to good, you are making your attitude your ally.

Food Matters documentary by GCNM Graduates
James Colquhoun & Laurentine ten Bosch
NC Graduates
"We are graduates from the GCNM Nutritional Consultant course. Prior to enrolling, we thoroughly researched the internet for a college of natural medicine that was to provide us with solid and independently researched information. The GCNM NC course was exactly that and the quality of their curriculum and student support exceeded our expectations.
We were so inspired and impressed with the content of the course that we immediately started applying this information to our own lives. We were astonished that such life-transforming information was not more widely known and practiced. During our studies we decided on focusing on how to share this knowledge with people around the world, so that billions could powerfully transform and improve their lives. We’ve always believed that with access to solid information, people will invariably make good choices for their health.
We thus decided to film a documentary on nutrition and curing disease naturally. Since graduating in May 2007 we headed off around the globe interviewing many of the authors and teachers we studied while undergoing the GCNM NC course. We now have the trailer to our film Food Matters online and the feature film will be available soon.
Without the knowledge we aquired while studying the NC course we would have not been able to undertake such a venture and thank the team at GCNM for their wonderful support."
